This year’s Young Member of the Year award goes to Elizabeth Johnson for her work engaging young members in her workplace and supporting branch recruitment at every opportunity.
As is member of Gloucester Police branch, Elizabeth has set up and run recruitment events welcoming new starters to the force which has significantly strengthened the union’s presence in her workplace.
Elizabeth has been actively engaging at a regional level, striving to create a stronger connection between the Young Members fForum and the Regional Council. She has taken the initiative to attend the next Regional Council meeting as the young members regional delegate, ensuring that young members have a voice and are seen and heard at these important meetings. In June, Elizabeth will represent the region at the National Delegate Conference in Brighton.
Her contributions to the Young Members Forum have been invaluable, and she is always willing to share her learning and provide feedback on how the region can better engage with young members in the future.
