Claire Hazelgrove is backing UNISON’s call for a national care service

“We know that working people and their families need a National Care Service”

Claire Hazelgrove, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Filton & Bradley Stoke, is backing UNISON’s campaign for a new national care service.

UNISON is calling for a reformed care system that provides high-quality care and fair rewards for the workforce. The union believes these changes would:

– End the prevalence of 15-minute home care visits
– Reduce long waits for care packages
– Increase wages for care staff

A national care service would also ensure the quality of care is the same high standard across the country, says UNISON.

The union is urging all parliamentary candidates in England to sign up and support their campaign ahead of the next general election.

Claire Hazelgrove said: “In the Labour Party, we know that working people and their families need a National Care Service. Not knowing the cost of care, or what may be available near to home, is deeply worrying for people later in life, and for their families.

“A National Care Service is also vital for people with disabilities of all ages, so that everyone can receive the best in class support to lead independent and fulfilling lives.”
