Swindon Local Government Branch has made a £2,000 donation towards our organisers’ Cardiff Half Marathon fundraising in aid of UNISON’s welfare charity, There for You.
The incredible donation comes after UNISON staff from across the South West pledged to run the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 1 October 2023.
This is the third donation the branch has made in the last four year’s after they donated £2,000 to the Bath Half Marathon fundraiser last year and £2,000 to the region’s Step Up September campaign in 2020.
Karla Bradford, UNISON Branch Secretary for Swindon Local Government Branch said:
“There for You has been a vital lifeline for many UNISON members over the past few years. We are delighted to be able to support them again with this donation.
“We know all too well the financial challenges the cost of living crisis has brought for many families in Swindon and across the UK.
“We would encourage anyone experiencing financial worries to get in touch to see how the union’s charity can support them.”
