UNISON’s LGBT+ group joined Taunton’s first Pride

“It was such an incredible atmosphere and an honour to be part of this historic occasion.”

UNISON South West’s LGBT+ self organised group were in attendance as the sun shone down for Taunton’s first Pride parade.

On Saturday 16th July, rainbow flags were carried through the town centre and up to Vivary Park where stalls, music and food ensured celebrations carried on well into the evening.

A member of the union’s self organised LGBT+ group said: “It was such an incredible atmosphere and an honour to be part of this historic occasion.

“The sun was shining and we had so many people come and speak to us, with a number of them wanting to get involved in UNISON’s LGBT+ group.

“We can’t wait for next year!”
