UNISON South West Regional Women’s Committee is delighted to be celebrating International Women’s Day.
Tara Thomas, Regional Women’s Committee Co-coordinator writes on behalf of the committee.
We as a committee are working towards a fairer workplace and community where no woman is left behind.
We are aiming for a gender balance. Imagine a gender equal workplace/community. A community/workplace free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, a world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all Break the Bias.
Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.
Please help us celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against. Take action for equality. We will continue to influence positive changes and attitudes towards women our community within the workplace. This is our chance to engage everyone to Break the Bias. I encourage you to spread the word and publicize the Regional Women’s Committee and its drive for equality and fairness for all within the workplace.
Meet the women breaking the bias this International Women’s Day
