Environment Agency staff accept pay offer following industrial action

Strike action brought the employer back to the negotiating table

Environment Agency staff have accepted a pay offer which will see the lowest paid staff receive an 11% increase.

The offer came following strike action earlier this year.

UNISON South West regional secretary Kerry Baigent said: “It was the efforts and commitment of UNISON and other trade union members to campaign for better pay – including in the form of extended periods of industrial action – that brought the employer back to the negotiating table.

“It was also UNISON that influenced decisions taken at the highest levels of government to unlock additional funding to enhance this offer.

“The campaign doesn’t stop here though, UNISON will be working on our claim for 2024 at the earliest opportunity.”
