Preeti Sood picked up the Eric Roberts Organising Rep of the Year award at our regional Get Active awards ceremony on Friday night (20th May).
Preeti was nominated by regional organiser Georgina Knight for her incredible work at Arts University Bournemouth where she is the only UNISON representative.
She regularly takes members concerns directly to management and has had issued addressed by the employer.
Preeti’s work saw union membership triple over the course of the pandemic and she has successfully re-negotiated union faciity time from 2.5 hours per week to two full days per week.
Our winner has felt really isolated at times being the only rep in her employer, she has shown courage and tenacity as well immense strength dealing with her own discrimination.
