Nominations are now open for our annual Get Active awards – which this year take place at UNISON’s Croyde Bay Holiday Resort. We are seeking nominations for activists across all branches and employers in our region.
Nominating is easy. Select from the seven categories listed below, tell us a bit about yourself and then tell us why your nominee(s) deserve(s) to win!
Eric Roberts Organising Rep of the Year
This award aims to recognise individual activists who have really made a difference in campaigning or organising, or can show significant impact in promoting Trade Union values and ideas.
Eric Roberts Organising Rep of the Year
(Community, Voluntary or Private Sector)
As for the previous award, this award is to recognise individual activists who have made a difference in campaigning, organising or promoting Trade Union values and ideas, but with a specific emphasis on activists from the Community, Voluntary or Private Sector.
Bob Cotton Health and Safety Award
This award aims to recognise any activist who has made a difference or run a campaign around Health and Safety in the workplace.
Equality Award
This award, open to both individual or branch/group nominations, seeks to recognise those who have led initiatives that have made a significant impact on the rights or positions of our members.
Learning Initiative Award
This award, also open to either individual or branch/group nominations, seeks to recognise those who have successfully run a workplace learning initiative for our members.
Young Member of the Year
This Award is to recognise any Young Member (30 or under) who has made a difference in campaigning, organising or promoting Trade Union values and ideas in the workplace.
Branch of the Year
This award aims to recognise a branch who has achieved or has evidence of moving towards achieving the following criteria: Improved recruitment and retention from previous year or the maintenance of high density, proportionality amongst branch officers, core officer posts filled, engaging on equality (education, case work, negotiations, SOG activity), engaging in the regional education programme, supporting regional and national campaigns, participation in regional and national democracy, innovative campaigning, engagement with local politicians, involvement in appropriate community campaigns and sharing resources and ideas with other branches.
