LGBT+ members

UNISON South West LGBT+ group fights discrimination and prejudice in the workplace on behalf of its lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members.

We organise through an elected LGBT+ Regional Committee who meet at least four times a year to plan our campaigns.

We are very high profile at many pride events in the South West taking our messages of equality and standing up for public services to the wider LGBT+ community.

2024: year of LGBT+ workers inclusion checklist branch support session

Wednesday 10 July 2024 – online (Teams)

It’s UNISON’s year of LGBT+ workers. We want all our workplaces to be as inclusive as possible – so let’s use this year to make sure our workplaces policies are as inclusive as they can be. We have created a check list of what your policies should include for LGBT+ inclusion. The aim of this checklist is to ‘stock-take’ your workplace policies and establish what work your branch can do to improve LGBT+ equality within your workplace(s).

This is an opportunity for LGBT+ Officers or other Branch Officers to access support for learning how to complete UNISON’s Year of LGBT+ Workers Checklist from the Southwest Self-Organised Group.

Date: Wednesday 10 July 2024

Time: 6pm – 7pm

Location: online via Teams

Please note: deadline for registration is 5pm on Monday 8 July 2024.

LGBT+ inclusion checklist – 2024

It’s UNISON’s year of LGBT+ workers. We want all our
workplaces to be as inclusive as possible – so let’s use
this year to make sure our workplaces policies are as
inclusive as they can be.

We have created a check list of what your policies
should include for LGBT+ inclusion. If you are missing
any of these, check out our factsheets, which will
provide further information (links below). We are also
encouraging members to submit these forms to national
office, so we can track where our workplaces are at for
LGBT+ inclusion.
