Izzy Pochin from Dorset UNISON Branch picked up this year’s Equality award at Get Active in Taunton.
Izzy has used her personal experience of discrimination to drive passion for equality and social justice and her commitment and dedication is a beacon to others and she has set a high standard in a very short space of time.
Roger McKenzie, UNISON assistant general secretary, said:
“From working with her employer to create safe spaces for the LGBT+ community, to organising film screenings in her local community, Izzy is a tireless campaigner.
“Izzy is a young woman with phenomenal strive, intelligence and passion and is the future of UNISON and the trade union movement.”
