Menopause in the workplace workshop (online)

 Wednesday 18th October – ONLINE

Menopause Awareness Day

Around 3.5 million women aged 50 years and over are currently in employment in the UK. The employment rate for women in the UK has actually increased in the past few decades and women now represent nearly half of the UK work force. This means that many more women are affected by symptoms of the menopause in the course of their daily activities, often to the detriment of their families, work, and life in general.

This course will cover:

  •  The impact of the menopause on women in the workplace
  • What employers should do to be more aware of the needs of women going through the menopause
  • Practical actions that employers should take
  • What UNISON can do to represent women on this issue and campaign for better workplaces

Tutor: Alison Foster TUC City College Bristol

Support: Natalie Chadwick UNISON South West
