Tackling Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

8th June Exeter 09:30-16:30

Sexual harassment is sometimes dismissed as being ‘banter’ or just a joke.

In fact, it can have profound consequences. It can cause stress and have a negative impact on mental and physical health. Sexual harassment may drive those who experience it to leave their job altogether. The Equality Act 2010 protects workers from sexual harassment. It does not matter how long you have worked for your employer or whether you are a permanent employee, on a fixed term contract, an apprentice or agency worker.

The course will cover:

  • What is sexual harassment?
  • Understanding the impact of sexual harassment
  • Challenging attitudes to sexual harassment
  • The Equality Act 2010 and workplace policies
  • Supporting and representing members
