South West LGBT+ self-organisation scoops national award

The group picked up the award for the second year running

Our South West LGBT+ self-organised group (SOG) picked up the regional recruitment and organising award at UNISON’s national LGBT+ conference in Edinburgh.

South West LGBT+ SOG committee member Jacks Twist said:
“Being part of the team awarded UNISON LGBT+ SOG national recruitment and organising award this year is an incredible honour.
“This recognition highlights our commitment to supporting and empowering our diverse community, and I’m proud to help drive positive change with such an inspiring group.”

South West LGBT+ SOG convenor Micheál Duffy said:

“The South West LGBT+ SOG has grown by over 50% over the last 12 months. Members of the SOG have continued to get involved in their branches and region. The group have held stalls at local Prides, Exeter Respect, hosted various training sessions at Tolpuddle and marched alongside our regional secretary to lead the UNISON section on the Tolpuddle march.”

“The LGBT+ National Committee recognised the work of the group by awarding the LGBT+ recruitment and organising award for the 2nd year running.”
