The first WARMS User Group Meeting (RUG) took place in Bristol on 24 October, bringing together representatives from 11 branches.
The event offered an excellent opportunity for networking and training, highlighted by an insightful presentation from Suzy Greenhead, RMS Training and Support Manager at UNISON.
The day featured a mix of activities, including a quiz, a Q&A session, and practical guidance on using the WARMS system effectively. Topics covered ranged from everyday functions to best practices and tips for improving communication with branches. Feedback from attendees underscored the event’s success:
“It was wonderful meeting with other admins and Branch Secretaries from around the region. It was good to exchange experiences from our various branches. I found the information shared—not just from central but also from others—very useful and have spent time implementing it. Looking forward to the next one! Hoping to bring my Branch Secretary next time too.”
– Fiona Sewell, Branch Administrator, UNISON North Somerset
“The WARMS Support meeting was really useful. Speaking to others who face similar frustrations and learning best practices for those tasks that leave us with little niggling doubts was invaluable. For me, finding out how to upload a picture on WARMS was a game changer—it’ll make my mailings to members far more visually appealing in the future. I’d definitely recommend holding these sessions a few times a year, especially for new WARMS users.”
– Dawn Eccles, Branch Secretary, Gloucester Police Branch
Building on this success, plans are in place to roll out similar sessions across the region throughout 2025.
The next meeting is scheduled for 27 March at the Taunton UNISON office. More details, including how to register, will be shared closer to the date.
