24 March 2018 9:00am–3:30pm
The Windmill, Thurlestone Walk, Leigham, Plymouth PL6 8QB
You’re invited to join the UNISON Labour Link Plymouth campaign day to put jobs, wages and public services on the agenda in the council elections.
You can help protect jobs and services – by electing Labour councillors who back trade union priorities in the local elections on Thursday 3 May 2018.
How you can join in
Meet at the The Windmill, Thurlestone Walk, Leigham, Plymouth PL6 8QB from 10:00.
Unfortunately Moor View isn’t near the train station but we can arrange lifts. It is easily accessible from the A38.
Lunch is at the Tamar, 1-7 Morshead Road, Crownhill, Plymouth, PL6 5AD. Then back to Moor View for an afternoon canvass.
There’ll be a social in the evening so you can meet other trade unionists, at The Pub on the Hoe, 159 Citadel Road, The Hoe, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 2HU
UNISON has worked to get our members’ priorities into the Labour manifesto. If we can change control of Plymouth council from the Conservatives to Labour, UNISON members will benefit from policies including:
- Building affordable and council homes
- An ethical care charter for better wages and conditions for care workers
- Keeping public services in public ownership
Will you join friends from other trade unions to help campaign for Labour councillors who will put these plans into action? Join us in Plymouth on Saturday 24 March (and Swindon on 7 April) to get involved!
You don’t need any experience of campaigning – just come along. There’s a job for everyone no matter your skills or preferences.

Labour Link campaigns for UNISON policy on the NHS, your employment rights and for quality public services within the Labour Party locally and in Parliament.
