Deal Maker: Unlock Your Negotiation Potential- Negotiation Skills – A Stewards Pathway course
The course focuses on talking to employers as an essential part of the steward’s role and stresses the importance of preparation and practice.
The course aims to develop your skills, knowledge and will help stewards to:
- Understand what negotiating is
- Understand how to negotiate and appreciate different management styles
- Develop an effective negotiating team
- Develop casework skills
- Prepare a claim with bargaining information
- Learn how to respond to tactics during negotiations
Who is this course for?
- New reps/stewards who have completed the Organising Stewards course
- Health and Safety Reps who have completed their Stage One Training
- Any experienced activists/reps/officers who want a refresher on negotiating and bargaining
Taunton | Thursday 15th May & Thursday 22nd May | 09:30-16:00 | 2 days training in person

If you are in need of support to request time off from your work to attend please talk to the branch to gain support.

Note for Branches
For branches that pay the levy, the cost of the course is fully covered under the scheme. However, for those not participating in the levy scheme, there is a standard charge of £25 per attendee.
