South West Labour Link forum 2017

24 – 26 March 2017

UNISON Croyde Bay

The annual Labour Link regional forum is to be held at Croyde Bay from Friday 24 March to Sunday 26 March 2017.

  • Each branch is allowed to send two delegates (plus observers), at least one of whom must be a woman.
  • Delegates must be individual members of the Labour party
  • Nomination forms are now with branch secretaries and branches will be agreeing their delegates in the coming weeks.
  • In addition each branch can send observers who must be APF members but not necessarily individual members of the Labour Party

The format of the weekend is as follows:

Friday 24 – Evening meal and social event to welcome all delegates and observers

Saturday 25 – Guest speaker (TBC) – workshops on local campaigning, communications and developing policy – plenary session with elected representatives – evening meal

Sunday 26 – Formal business of the forum – elections for the regional Labour Link committee, election of UNISON delegates to Labour party conference, and motions.

This is a perfect opportunity for UNISON members to strengthen the links with the Labour party, to get involved in local and national campaigning and learn how to successfully work with the Labour party back in your branch to further UNISON campaigns.

It’s also a chance to learn from colleagues about how to stand for elected office yourself and how UNISON can support you in that.

There is no cost to your branch for attending so get in touch with your Branch Secretary, or email to find out more and register to come along to what promises to be a great event.
