Wednesdays – 26 Feb , 5, 12 ,19 and 26 March
To develop your skills, knowledge and confidence to enable you to carry out:
– Understand the role of an organising union in public services
– Work with members to tackle issues in the workplace
– Work with members in resolving cases
– Know where and when to seek advice and guidance
– Understand how procedures work in practice
This is an in person course option and you will be expected to be able to attend all five dates in order to complete the course and gain your accreditation.

Note for anyone registering: To attend this course, you need to be a nominated new rep/steward and/or have the agreement of your UNISON branch. Please contact your branch and secure their agreement to attend before applying for this course.
Making your Branch aware that you are applying for this course will also help them to keep their records up to date and ensure you receive up to date information and support relevant to your role.
If you are in need of support to request time off from your work to attend, please talk to the branch to gain support. You may have a local policy to support with gaining reasonable time off to attend training from your employer.

Note for branches: There is a £50 charge per person for our Organising Stewards Training unless you have arranged to pay via our regional education levy scheme.
