Taunton

Organising To Win – a series of learning for active UNISON members.

This learning is a one day learning option in person in Taunton.

This course will look at how campaigning on issues is the bedrock of the way UNISON organises. It is aimed at workplace activists and concentrates on the issues that can arise at workplace level.

 It will cover:

  •  Understanding the organising potential of issues
  • The Organising to Win approach to planning a campaign
  • Testing issues to predict how successful the campaign will be
  • Developing Strategy and Tactics in a campaign
  • Communicating your campaign to members and the wider community

A new strand to our Regional Education Programme which focuses on building UNISON in workplaces, campaigning on issues and increasing our activist base.

This will for the first time, include formal regional training for workplace contacts/active members.

These pilot courses are based around UNISON’s national ‘Organising to Win’ Plan. They will cover the skills and knowledge that any UNISON activist can use to build power in the workplace and build the union.

Initially these pilot courses will be split between our Bristol and Taunton offices or held online but if successful, will be rolled out across the region in 2025.
