The South West LGBT+ self-organised group (SOG) would like to invite LGBT+ members of UNISON to our AGM weekend in September.
You will need to identity as LGBT+ and be a member of UNISON in the South West region to attend.
Note: if you are not “out” in your branch, please get in touch with regional staff and we can liaise with your branch for you whilst maintaining your confidentiality. Please give us as much notice as possible to arrange this. There is a section in the booking form where you can request this support.

Nominations & elections
Nominations are now open for convenors, leads, national representatives and representatives to other bodies in the union. For the full list and to make a nomination please follow the link below.
- Members can self-nominate for any position.
- Nominations via the form must be completed by 12 noon on Friday 13 September (1 week before the event).
- Nominations can also be taken from the AGM floor on the day.
Motions & changes to the SW constitution
The current version of the constitution is linked below for information. Any motions or suggested changes to the constitution must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 13 September. Please send your motions / constitution changes by email: equalityunisonsw@unison.co.uk

Friday 20 September
7pm – social evening at the Great Western Hotel in Taunton
Saturday 21 September
9am – Taunton Pride stall set up
11am – Taunton Pride march
7pm – Taunton Pride stall pack up
8pm – Dinner at Pizza Express
In the evening there will be Pride after-parties in Taunton (details to be confirmed) but we have also reserved the small meeting room in the Great Western Hotel as a quiet space for those with neurodiverse and/or other needs who may wish to use it.
Sunday 22 September
10am – LGBT+ self-organised group AGM and planning
Food
Friday
- Please order food to be delivered to the hotel (we have the conference room booked for the evening)
Saturday
- Please arrange your own food for the day. In the evening we have a table booked at Pizza Express, the menu is available here: Pizza Express Menu.
Note: if you are planning on joining us for the meal at Pizza Express please let us know on your booking form.
Sunday
- Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the AGM.
Travel and accommodation
Travel and accommodation should be arranged through your branch.
We suggest the following hotels:

Note: we DO NOT recommend that you stay at the Royal Ashton Town House, even though it is the closest to the meeting venue.
If you are a member of the UNISON SW LGBT+ committee (or an invited guest), the region will cover your travel and accommodation (please give details when you fill out the booking form).
