Why is Domestic Violence and Abuse a Trade Union Issue?
In the face of current austerity measures all public services are under threat and particularly those affecting vulnerable people.
Domestic violence and abuse is an equalities issue most significantly affecting women and there is overwhelming evidence that women are also most affected by austerity.
Against this backcloth there are some positive signs of national political attention to the wider issue of violence against women and girls agenda.
The day will provide the opportunity to reflect on all of these issues and explore what action you as a trade unionist can take.
There is a charge of £25 per delegate to branches for this course.
