UNISON is offering a fantastic workshop for members in the South West.

Coping with Change – UNISON/Workers Education Association 
28 January, & 4,11 February
6.30 pm – 8.30 pm
As many of us are facing times of change at work, and maybe even changes to our employment situation, this course is designed to help by giving you practical and positive guidance on how to approach coping with change. During the course we will be exploring how change affects us and will explore strategies on how to look positively and proactively at change. This includes goal setting, motivation and managing stress. The course will also help you to develop your personal employability skills, to help you maximise your skills and experience through your CV, applications forms and interview skills.
Learning outcomes:
– Identify and use strategies to help deal with change.
– Have increased confidence with the job application process, including CV and application forms.
– Identify my personal stress and use strategies to help combat it.
– Confidently answer common interview questions and competency based interview questions.

You may want to make your Branch Union Learning Representative or Education Officer aware that you are attending this course to link with other learners or join the local learning network

If you are in need of support to request time off from your work to attend please talk to the branch to gain support.

These sessions are being held in the evening but if you are on shift or working and want to attend you may be able to negotiate time off from your workplace.

You may have a local policy or learning agreement to support with gaining reasonable time off to attend our learning from your employer. There is also guidance via ACAS – Time off advice

What happens once you’ve signed up?

By completing this form our membership team will enrol you on to the WEA platform and you will be sent confirmation of how to log in and access the workshops coursework.

A zoom link to the online classroom session will be sent to you at least one week before the start date of the course.

Information, classroom notes and course work is accessed via the WEA platform CANVAS ( WEA infrastructure). The tutor will advise on how to access and use this in your first session.
