Phlebotomists at Gloucestershire Hospitals have been striking since 17 March. They’re fighting for fair pay after years of doing Band 3 work for Band 2 wages.
The Trust has ignored them for over a year. Now, as the workers move beyond 200 days on the picket line, they need your support and solidarity more than ever.

Every single phlebotomist in Gloucestershire Hospitals has joined together in their union, UNISON, and over the past year they’ve elected their union reps, delivered a formal collective grievance direct to their elusive Chief Executive, voted for industrial action, smashed the barriers of the anti-union laws, and started strong and powerful strike action.
The phlebotomists have been on strike since 17 March, with every single worker on strike and on the picket line. They have vowed to keep fighting until they get the banding they’re entitled to, the backpay they’re owed and the respect and recognition they deserve.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and its Chief Executive, Kevin McNamara, have tried every trick in the book to evade responsibility and keep underpaying these vital NHS workers.
With the solidarity of workers and their union branches across the UK, phlebotomists in Gloucester will win. When they do, will be a significant victory for all NHS staff, and a warning shot for employers everywhere: you will get away with underpaying no longer.
Please show your support, as an individual and through your union branch, by donating to the phlebotomists’ industrial action hardship fund:
