An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Area Organiser at South Gloucestershire UNISON branch.

The role will primarily involve organising workers in schools/colleges across the area and engaging in individual workplace representation. It will also involve similar duties in other employers as part of the branch, such as social care providers.

South Gloucestershire UNISON is a substantial sized branch, with members in the council and an array of outsourced employers. We are focused on collective organising and building the union’s strength by bringing members together around common workplace struggles.

The branch has a number of enthusiastic reps and officers, who you will be working with to support each other and build on the unions strength.

We are looking for someone with experience of workplace organising, representation and/or significant experience working in schools, social care providers or other relevant organisations. This could include a variety of backgrounds, from holding trade union positions to voluntary roles supporting people and communities, to research and activism in societal issues.

UNISON South Gloucestershire look forward to hearing from you.
