UNISON Devon County Local Government Branch is seeking to appoint a part-time case worker; to provide advice, representation, support and guidance to branch members employed within the voluntary, community and private sector including Academy schools. As well as supporting branch campaigns.
The successful applicant will have good presentation and communication skills, both face-to- face and written. Previous experience as a trade union representative and knowledge of local government terms and conditions would be desirable. However a good understanding of employment law is essential. Your ability to be flexible, work on under pressure and meet the demands of members in a timely fashion are essential, as is your ability to work under your own initiative. This role also requires driving across Devon to various work bases.
