About this job

UNISON is the largest public service union in the country and Bristol branch is one of the biggest branches in it. We have an Area Organiser position which is now becoming vacant to service the community and voluntary sector.

We are looking for someone who has plenty of initiative but nonetheless has experience of being accountable to others. A knowledge of the community and voluntary sector would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have some experience of being a union organiser; deliver on organising and recruitment campaigns; will identify, recruit and mentor stewards; have good presentation and communication skills; and do case work (such as disciplinaries) as necessary.

A very strong knowledge of what a trade union does (and the organising model) is vital for this role.

Please complete the application form and return to bristol.unison@bristolunison.co.uk and mark it FAO Tom Merchant.
